2022 Goals
Feed the Children of the World
While 2021 has once again been a challenging year for all of us, Ubuntu Mundo has continued to feed children and uplift communities.
During the months our kitchens were forced to close, we distributed food parcels to local families. For the remainder of the year, we served more than 55,000 “take-out” meals.
Food insecurity continues to be an issue all over the world, and since the start of the pandemic, food insecurity in South Africa has risen to 50%. These numbers are devastating, but Ubuntu Mundo is having a real impact in the communities we operate.
“The project is playing a significant role in both the school and the community of Rooiboklaagte B and Arthurseat at large. The project is alleviating poverty in the community.”
— From the Principal of the Primary School in Rooiboklaagte
2022 Goals
In total, Ubuntu currently offers daily meals to 350 children, divided across two kitchens. 2022 will be a year of expansion.
- We will increase our reach to 500 children at our existing locations in South Africa.
- We will expand the vegetable garden, providing more produce for use in our kitchens and for sale in local markets. Self-sustainability is a pillar of our strategy.
- We will add a 3rd project, this time outside of South Africa. The blueprint is ready, and locations and local leadership are being explored.
World hunger is staggering, but solvable. The Ubuntu Mundo formula is simple, but oh so effective! And more important now than ever. With your continued support, we will feed the children of the world.
