Review of 2019
Thanks to your support, Dineo and 175 other vulnerable children from Bodlayabongolo have had good food every day. We were able to serve 22,000 meals this year. A wonderful token of the love that we feel for all these children.
Moreover, with our approach we have been able to give work to 30 people from the local community. The Ubuntu gardens, greenhouse and kitchen provide food and jobs that sustain the program and uplift the community, and are key to making our approach self-sufficient. We hope to grow these aspects of the program so that someday no money will be needed from outside. This is a plan for development that works. We are quite proud of that.
But our ambitions reach further. In 2020 we hope to scale up to around 400 children and more than 35,000 meals. Ambitious, but achievable. And needed, because we believe that all children in the world should be able to eat well. Food is the fuel of life. For every child. For everyone.
To achieve this growth, we need your support for the coming year. That is why we hope that you will remain a partner in 2020. Together we can feed more children and create real value for this community.
But for now we want to thank you on behalf of all the children of Bodlayabongolo for your support in 2019. It has brought them a lot. As the year comes to a-close it is Ubuntu’s hope that your Holidays are full of love, laughter and goodwill spent together with family and friends. And may the year ahead be full of happiness and joy.
